Thoughts on New Camaro Engine

I am interested in hearing what you think the engine for the New Camaro will be. Post it here and we will see what you are thinking and how close you really are.

I'm surprised the Camaro boys aren't all over this!  My guess is 6.2L with direct injection?    Maybe we should hold a contest to see who's the closest. I'm sure we could come up with a cool prize.  What you think Tom?

I'm going to guess a supercharged 6.2, like a LSA for the top model ; not an LS9.  I think a standard V8 will be a DI 6.2L, like Mike mentioned.  Base will be a DI V6

I don't think I'll be correct on the top model, but I'm hopeful

I believe it will be a variant of the LS3. I think it will have AFM, and I'm praying it will be E85 capable. 400-420hp.
I don't think the V8 will be Direct Injected...even thought that would be awesome.

The DI V6 straight out of the caddy, and if they decide to do so (would be a great option), a Turbo 4 for the lowest model.

Base will be the DI V6

Entry V8 will be some version of the LS3 with 400HP

And the top dog motor will be Hopefully the LSA.  I'd settle for the mysterious LS8.  But prefer the LSA.

Thoughts on the new Camaro engine, huh?

Top of the line...I'm hoping for something supercharged to blow away all the competition.  I think the 6.2 ltr would be the logical choice for engine.  Sooooo....I'm pulling for the LSA.

Base model V8...  I'm hoping for the LS3.  Now, if it's DI, AFM, VVT, E85, etc, either only being one or a combination thereof, I'd be flying high on could 9!!!

V6?  I'm pulling for the DI V6 that's in the Caddy right now.

This, of course.......all depends on whether or not you have something up your sleeves w/ some Gen V engines!!!  Please, please, please!!!!!

Oh, and I really do hope that  a turbo 4 comes along w/ GREAT gas mileage to help keep those sales up!!

I'm pretty much right in line with everybody else:

DI V6 (same as in the CTS)

Base V8: LS3 (w/ at least 400 HP)

Top-level V8: LSA

That's what I think

5.3 (327)D.I. v8 next gen LS....optional RS coupe
5.0 (302)D.I. v8 next gen LS....base Z28 coupe
6.2 D.I. v8....optional Z28 coupe
6.2 Supercharged/Intercooled D.I. v8....Top Dog SS/ZL1 coupe

Smaller engines could get supercharger kit optional thru dealers via gm performance parts with a waranty.
